Makeup Bag Collection

makeup 3 Comments »

One of the important things that women cannot live without is a makeup bag that will be a lifesaver for them. A make up bag will help to organize the makeup tools and prevent them floating around the base of purses of women. Yet, some of them come in a simple design and solid colors. Most women have more than one make up bags. They tend to have a larger one to keep their make up in at home, a small one that easily holds a few items in their purse, and one that they take with them when they travel to hold various cosmetics.

Renowned makeup artist and Cover Girl Global Design Director Pat McGrath have collaborated with LeSportsac on an eight-piece lipstick-inspired cosmetic bag collection.

Starting June 2011, the LipPerfection collection will be available at LeSportsac boutiques and on LeSportsac.com. And wait, there’s a beauty bonus! With every bag purchase, you’ll receive a Cover Girl LipPerfection lipcolor voucher for any shade. We’re certainly tempted by this adorable print—will you snatch up one of these for your stash?

Skinny Jeans

Reviews 1 Comment »

How to wear skinny jeans is dependant upon several factors – your own sense of style, your fashion sense and, ultimately, your confidence. Much like any other form of tight pants, skinny jeans need to be worn with a little aplomb, yet you also need to look as though you’re just too casual for words.

If all your jeans are flared or bootcut and your boots are quite close fitting, it might be best to invest in some skinny jeans. Bulk around the ankle is the surefire way to ruin this look, so go for tight-fitting, slim jeans that won’t sag. This is the only time I’d ever recommend people who are a UK size 14 or up to buy skinny or straight leg  jeans, but since they’re going to be tucked into boots, it’s worth it. You could also recycle your Summer cropped jeans, and wear your boots underneath.

Actually, knowing how to wear skinny jeans is simpler than it sounds. A few good pointers in the right direction and before you know it, you’ll be strutting around like you’ve always had the ‘know how’. Or at least – that’s the intention.

If you can’t be doing with buying a new pair of jeans, one trick to reduce the bulk is to fold your jeans in ‘pleats’ around your ankle, and then pulling on some socks or knee-highs to flatten them down. Pleating or folding in more than one place will stop you from having a big bump in one area. If you find that the extra bulk from your jeans makes zipping up normal boots impossible, plus size shop Evans is amazing for affordable boots in larger calf widths. It’s also worth trying Duo of Bath and Buckles and Bows, who also do smaller widths for skinny legs.

Healthy Skin

Tips 0 Comment »

“You are what you eat” as the saying goes and it’s still true.

Eating processed foods that are lacking nutrients leads to poor looking skin, not to mention poor health. By not getting the right amounts of essential nutrients daily, your skin over time looses collagen and elastin. Therefore, you should protect your healthy skin (and health) from the inside out! Just eat a well-balanced diet but, if you find that your diet is lacking in essential nutrients you can always add quality supplements.

Egg whites have long been known as an immunity booster. Recent studies show that egg whites are a great source of zinc, an essential mineral that keeps the skin young, firm and vital. If you’re zinc deficient, all the skin care applications in the world won’t cover basic healthy, youthful skin.

Eat as much as you like of this healthy, sweet fruit. Watermelon contains lots of Vitamin C, Potassium and Lycopene. These ultimate antioxidants help to regulate the balance of water and nutrients in cells. Hydration is the secret to vibrant, healthy, youthful looking skin and super food secrets for healthy skin is the key.

Another thing that is taken for granted is exercising, people nowadays mostly spend time at the computer and will not even go outside for some fresh air. These are the same people who ask themselves, why is my skin dry and irritated? Now, I am not saying that you have to go to the gym every day and “push it to the limit” but what I am saying is that you can at least take a jog every 3 days trust me, it helps. When we exercise, it causes our heart to pump blood faster throughout our body. That increased blood flow is one of the things that will keep your skin looking shiny. It also helps to even out skin tone. We don’t want patches and spots on our skin now do we? We do not just sweat because we are hot; we sweat to rid the body of toxins, something that prevents our skin from looking at its best.

So, go ahead and start your healthy skin care routine.

Prom Dress

Tips 0 Comment »

Prom is a very important event in a high school girl’s life and many look forward to it even before they first hit the high school campus. Girls’ expectations of prom are often set by the many teen movies that feature prom as part of the story line. Prom night is remembered fondly for many years to come, especially the dress.

The designers of prom dresses have finally gotten the memo that not all females are built exactly the same and are now creating styles and designs intended to flatter all types of figures. Put aside your worries about any perceived flaws you think you have and enjoy yourself while browsing through the many gowns and dresses that will make you feel like the belle of the ball on prom night!

Choosing the perfect prom dress can be both fun and stressful for many teen girls. Hopefully it will be more on the fun side. Here are some tips to make the shopping process a little less stressful and get a prom dress that, not only fits your personality, but also fits beautifully and looks great. One thing to deal with is peer influence and the need for acceptance and accolades from high school peers. Everyone says they want a unique dress. But most prom dress customers are reluctant to actually choose a dress they want because maybe it is something very different from what their friends would choose, or they are afraid of what their friends or other people will think. They want to look different, but, at the same time, they want to look the same.

HourGlass – Almost all dress styles will flatter an hourglass figure. The best options for this figure will be strapless or halter prom dresses with sashes and cinched waists.

Pear-Shaped – Opt for a dress with a fitted top and a full skirt. A-line dresses or empire waists are good choices for pear shapes. They can disguise heavy hips and show off the waist.

Top-Heavy – Dresses with flattering necklines are your best bet. To balance the top half of your body, go for fuller coverage at the bottom.

Slender – Create the illusion of curves by wearing ball gowns and empire-waists which draws attention to your bust line or waist line.

Petite – Avoid floor-length gowns. Go for sheath dresses that can elongate your frame or dresses with higher hemlines.
